National Road 13 South Upgrade on Track, First Asphalt Layer Due Early 2027
The 50-kilometre upgrade of National Road 13 South is 42 percent complete and on schedule. Contractors aim to finish the first asphalt layer by the early rainy season of 2027.

Laos' transport minister told the National Assembly how the government plans to tackle rising road costs, local road management and truck overloading. The 2026 budget also sets aside 2,000 billion kip to resurface roads across the provinces.
